ProActive Massage is located in the boutique Kuripuni Village in Masterton. We are currently a team of two and looking to expand to keep up with growing demand for knowledgeable and highly skilled Massage Therapists in the Wairarapa.
Our focus is on evidence informed practice to offer patients the best advice and care available for their needs. We work with a wide range of people from those with persistent pain or injuries to recovery from surgery, sports people, or everyday aches and pains. Education and guidance for self care along with hands on soft tissue treatment are all a part of what we do to help best meet the needs of those engaging in treatment.
We are looking for a qualified massage therapist to join our team to offer informative treatments and exceptional customer service to help support the health of our local community. Continued education and building on knowledge is an important part of maintaining our standards and it is an expectation all team members make an effort to take part in learning opportunities. Days and hours are flexible to suit the needs of the successful candidate however consistency in availability is important.
About the role:
This is a contractor role as a NZQA qualified Massage Therapist or equivalent.
Pay rate is dependent on qualification and experience level.
All equipment and supplies are provided by ProActive Massage.
Basic clinic cleaning, this is shared throughout the team.
Ideal candidate:
A Diploma or Degree qualification in Remedial Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Sports Massage or Neuromuscular Therapy - Level 6 or 7 (or training towards)
Ability to assess, plan and deliver high quality massage techniques. This includes the treatment of soft tissue, musculoskeletal dysfunction and injuries.
Ability to provide rehabilitation treatment in a clinical massage setting taking into account the biopsychosocial elements of the patients needs.
Basic exercise prescription within the scope of massage therapy.
To understand massage therapy and exercise prescription contraindications and when it is appropriate to refer to other health providers.
Ability to work effectively as part of the ProActive Massage team and autonomously.
Demonstrate excellent time management.
A willingness to continue learning and keeping up to date with recent developments within musculoskeletal health.
Is a New Zealand Citizen or Residency or a relevant visa to work in New Zealand.
